RAHANA – A number of Intelligence agents have been searching Jafar Panahi’s since an hour ago. They are reportedly filming the house as the search goes on.
According to a RAHANA reporter, Jafari’s mobile phone is turned off and as of 2:45 a.m. local time it was impossible to contact the award winner movie director.
Panahi was banned from leaving the country a while ago as he was on his way to the Berlin Film Festival. He was briefly detained in the summer of 2009 after he was arrested with Mahnaz Ghaem-Mohammadi and Rokhsareh Ghaem-Maghami in Behesht-Zahra cemetery in Tehran where they had gone to lay flower on the graves of the protesters killed in the aftermath of the June presidential election.
