RAHANA – Panahi was arrested along with his wife Mahnaz Mohammadi, their daughter and around 15 guests when the couple’s house was raided in the early hours of Tuesday March 2. There is still no information on their whereabouts. According to a RAHANA reporter, the agents also searched the house and seized a number of items.
Panahi was banned from leaving the country a while ago as he was leaving to attend the Berlin Film Festival. He was briefly detained in the summer of 2009 after he was arrested with Mahnaz Ghaem-Mohammadi and Rokhsareh Ghaem-Maghami in Behesht-Zahra cemetery in Tehran where they had gone to lay flower on the graves of the protesters killed in the aftermath of the June presidential election.
