RAHANA- Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasoul-Of are currently detained in ward 209 of Evin prison. This is while Mehdi Pourmoussa, Jafar Panahi’s colleague whose name was among the released prisoners on Wednesday night is still detained in another ward inside Evin prison.

According to Pooya Khabar portal, last night, during the annual “Donyaye Tasvir” movie ceremony in the Forum Center of Milad Tower, Kioumars Pour Ahmad, prominent Iranian director went on the stage and while praising his colleagues, demanded release of Jafar Panahi, Mohammad Rasoul-Of and Mehdi Pourmoussa. Mehdi Hashemi, famous theater and cinema actor also said, “I hope we witness the release of Jafar Panahi and other movie industry colleagues from prison.”

Jafar Panahi was arrested by security agents on Monday night, March 1 at his house along with his wife, daughter and 15 guests. It is said he has been accused of directing a movie about post-election incidents.
