RAHANA- Amir Sheybani was once detained for two weeks in Mashhad Intelligence Office last year. After the June election,he was first arrested on June 15, 2009 during the protests held by Mashhad residents against election results, and was released one day later. He was then arrested on September 14 while inviting people to participate in the demonstration of Qods day which was to be held on September 18. He was released after ten days detention in solitary confinement inside Intelligence Office and Mashhad police department detention centers.
According to Iran Green Voice, Amir Sheybani was once again arrested on December 9 for having taken part in a ‘free tribune’ program held on the occasion of the Student’s Day in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Although this program was planned and authorized by the university officials, Amir Sheybani was illegally arrested and had to spend two weeks in the solitary confinement before being released on bail.
Regarding the last illegal arrest of Amir Sheybani, he was summoned to Mashhad Revolutionary Court on January 27 and without having committed any crime, he was transferred to an unknown detention belonging to Mashhad IRGC Intelligence Office.
Amir Sheybani was detained in the solitary confinement of IRGC intelligence detention until 18 February 2010 without having any prison visit and his family remained in the dark about the whereabouts of their only son. He was then transferred to Vakil Abad prison and released on March 4.
