Behzad Mehrani in Solitary in Ward 209

Blogger and journalist, Behzad Mehrani is being held in solitary confinement in ward 209 of Evin Priosn.

RAHANA – Behzad Mehrani was arrested on March 3 and taken to Evin Prison where he being held in solitary confinement in the infamous ward 209.
According to a RAHANA reporter, Mehrani has been interrogated twice since his arrest. Following Mehrani’s arrest, the agents also raided the house of Mehrani’s sister, Behnaz, in an attempt to arrest her and her husband Hasan Ranjbar.
A few hours after Mehrani’s arrest, another group of agents went to his house to arrest him. Mehrani’s arrest is an example of many similar cases of extrajudicial arrests that are made without the knowledge of judicial authorities.
