RAHANA- Shahram Mavaddat was arrested on January 19, 2010 at his house after security agents had confiscated his books, personal computer and photos related to the Baha’i faith.
According to a RAHANA’s reporter, Shahram Mavaddat had attended a Baha’i session in Bahnamir (a village close to Babolsar) seven days before his arrest when 19 armed forces from Saari and Babolsat raided into the session. They caused severe fear among the attendees and forced them to fill out forms which required them to answer questions about their religion.
According to this report, nobody was arrested during that incidence; however, Shahram Mavaddat and Hoda Fallah, two attendees were arrested a week later. Moreover, Sepideh Khazei, another attendee of that solely religious session has been fired from her job. It seems her employer may have been threatened to fire her.
